Photography Blog - 11 - A Morning Walk through Kyoto
Our second day in Kyoto began early, walking quiet streets lined with wooden houses and shopfronts still closed from the night before. The sun rose over the hills behind the city, turning temple roofs and pagodas a vivid red against the clear winter sky.
We passed narrow rivers and backstreets where the only sounds were footsteps on stone and the rustle of trees stripped bare by winter. Even this early in the morning the crowds began to form, yet it never felt cramped or overwhelming.
These photos capture those first few hours when Kyoto felt both ancient and alive, filled with the warmth of the morning sun.
