Photography Blog - 8 - Exploring a City's History

A walk through Chester is like flipping through layers of a story. Roman foundations, medieval walls, Victorian restoration, and the mix of quiet corners and busy moments in the modern city all overlapping.

I spent the day meandering through its streets and canals, looking for the quieter details. Moss-covered brickwork. Arches open to the sky. Timbered buildings that feel like stage sets until you realise they’re real shops with real lives behind them.

This collection doesn’t try to document everything. Just the mood. That mix of age and stillness that you only get when you let a place unfold slowly.
